Many of your team may have a very narrow view on what goes on.
Their experiences may only be within the team or your department.
If you can broaden their contacts you will help with their experiences.
By allowing people to get on with things with out constantly seeking approval work will speed up and motivation will improve. Look for ways to do this with small budget control, ability to sign off tasks without asking, redefine job description etc.
This means not being restricted by a job position or title.
Look at the organisational policies, rules and other procedural documents and try to remove as many as you can which will free up work practices. Only retain those that you feel you must keep, for example, legal requirements and health and safety procedures.
Review and improve work processes.
